Sunday Worship

A warm invitation is extended to our morning service at 10.30am every Sunday. All ages are catered for during the service which lasts about one hour with tea & coffee served afterwards. On Sunday evenings we share in worship with the other churches in the Circuit as shown in the Circuit Plan.

Church Building

Methodists have met in Wibsey since 1816. The present building is based on the original Sunday and Day School first erected in 1821and which has undergone extension and modification since that time to meet the needs of the congregation and community of Wibsey. The most recent re-ordering took place in 2005.

A multipurpose hall with partitioning serves as the Church and activity area. The opened out hall provides presentation space with seating for over 150, screen and projection facilities, sound system and hearing aid loop, a portable stage and lighting. A separate meeting room with seating for 30 is also available. There are two smaller halls, coffee lounge, kitchen and toilet facilities with disabled access. The premises are used extensively by Church sponsored uniformed youth groups, Young Church, youth group, women's groups, art classes, commercial after school club and other community groups throughout the week.

Wibsey is now an urban village of some 10 000 people some 2.5 miles from Bradford city centre, located on the main access routes from the M62/M606 and Bradford to Halifax and the Aire Valley. The Methodist Church, in School Lane, is in the centre of the village just off the busy High Street. The Green Line buses run past and the Red Line and Brighouse buses stop with a quarter of a mile.
The Methodist Church together with Anglicans, Catholics, the Salvation Army and Wesleyan Reformed Church serve the needs of our extensive and varied area.
